July 11
JoEllen Reynolds grew up in Oreland, attended OEPC during her younger years and was very active in our youth programs. She has been associated with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Hawaii. She is expecting to relocate to Afghanistan in the near future with YWAM to minister where God continues to lead her to seek the lost and present Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world. She will share her experiences with us.
July 18-August 22 "Let's Talk About Church" led by Pastor Jim Farrell
OEPC has said it wants to be a "missional church." What kind of church is a "missional church?" Can we do it? Should we do it? Is it biblical or just another church growth scheme? Let's talk about it! With information from Reggie McNeal's latest book, Missional Renaissance: Changing the Scorecard for the Church, and just back from hearing McNeal speak in person at the EPC General Assembly, Pastor Jim will present information and lead discussion on this topic. This 6 week class begins on Sunday, July 18, at 8:45 AM in Fellowship Hall.
August 29
Don Beebe, Head of School at Phil-Mont Christian Academy , one of the organizations we support, will speak. The mission of Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy is to provide excellent academic education from a consistent world-and-life view for the children in Christian families.
September 5
Chris and Beth Whiting of CHAT (Church Hill Activities and Tutoring) will speak about their ministry to urban youth in Richmond VA.
September 12
Our youth groups, under the direction of Tim Ricci, will report on their summer activities.
The Bible Fellowship Group led by Nick and Marilyn Furcola will continue all summer.
This is an open forum type discussion group covering a wide variety of topics from the Bible as a whole. Come with questions or items for discussion or simply interact with the topics and scripture presented. It will be possible to make up the class as we go along. The only material which will be used will be God’s Word, the Bible, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
